It’s time for all Badminton enthusiasts to get ready to crown a new crop of National Champions again!
Events include the Mens’ Singles, Womens’ Singles, Mens’ Doubles, Womens’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles!

This once a year event organized by the Singapore Badminton Association gives spectators a chance to watch our Singapore top shuttlers live in action! The Singapore Sports Hub National Open Championships 2023 (presented by Eagle Brand) puts up $13,000 worth of total prize monies up for grab!

Please note that there will be a change in registration regulation starting from National Open Championships 2024. With the establishment of the National Ranking System and sanction tournaments with ranking points across the year, future National Open Championships be accepting registrations based on ranking points for the Open event and will no longer be on a first come first serve basis.

Monday, 6th February 2023 – Starts 18:30 Hours
Tuesday, 7th February 2022 – Starts 18:30 Hours
Wednesday, 8th February 2023 – Starts 18:30 Hours
Thursday, 9th February 2023 – Starts 18:30 Hours
Friday, 10th February 2023 – Starts 18:30 Hours

It’s once again the time to crown a new crop of National Champions!  

We’re incredibly excited to be resuming our slate of events, and can’t wait for you to join us at this upcoming National Championships, which would be held from 4th February to 10th February 2023… 

The Only Tier 1 SBA Tournament

The National Open Championships is a Tier 1 SBA Tournament, with the highest ranking points under the National Ranking System (If you are unsure about the National Ranking System, do visit this link).

With that being said, we would want to cordially invite all individuals residing in Singapore, with a passion to compete for the glory of being National Champion, to register for the upcoming event.

Who Can Compete in the National Open Championships?

For the uninitiated, the National Open Championships is as its name entails.

Meaning… Everyone residing in Singapore is invited to compete.

Whether you are a National JC CCA player or ex-Olympian like Jiang Yanmei,  septuagenarian with a passion for badminton who plays at ActiveSG courts or a former SEA Games Gold Medalist like Wong Shoon Keat, as long as you reside in Singapore (full details in the Rules & Regulation document below), we invite you to compete in the National Open Championships.

And of course, ex-national players are welcome too :-))

5 Events to Compete for the Glory of Becoming National Champion

There will be competitions in the following 5 events:

  • Men’s Singles
  • Women’s Singles
  • Men’s Doubles
  • Women’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles

Each player is allowed to enter up to 2 events.

Registration fees (inclusive of 7% GST) for each event are as follows:

Registration without payment is deemed as incomplete. Late, unclear and incomplete entries will NOT be entertained. This registration fee is non-refundable.
