Becoming an Accredited Coach in Singapore
To become an accredited coach, you must complete the Singapore Coach Excellence (SG-Coach) Programme — the national standard for coaching qualifications in Singapore.
Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand the process of becoming a certified badminton coach.
Skills Test
All prospective candidates must pass the Skills Test conducted by SBA before enrolling in the coaching course. This assessment ensures that you possess the technical badminton skills required to meet the standards of a qualified coach.
Attend The Course
Upon successfully passing the skills test, candidates will be invited to enrol in the SG-Coach Full Integration Programme Level 1 (Badminton). This comprehensive programme includes the following components:
- BWF Level 1 (SG-Coach Technical)

- SG-Coach Theory Level 1
Completion of the Course
SG-Coach Full Integration Programme Level 1 (Badminton)
Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) organises the SG-Coach Full Integration Programme Level 1 (Badminton) and the BWF Level 2 (Technical) Course as part of our ongoing commitment to coach education and development.
