About the Singapore Badminton Open

Singapore’s most prestigious badminton event is back to our sunny island! World class shuttlers from around the globe will battle it out at the Singapore Badminton Open 2022.

From 12-17 July 2022, watch top players compete for the US$370,000 prize purse at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This Super 500 event is organized by the Singapore Badminton Association and is part of the HSBC BWF World Tour.

The Singapore leg has proved to be a successful marquee event that attracted badminton legends to our shores. Past tournaments have witnessed world class players from around the globe, such as Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Chen Long, Tai Tzu-ying, Kento Momota, Taufik Hidayat, Peter Gade, Viktor Axelsen, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Hendra Setiawan, Boonsak Ponsana, Sun Yu, Wang Yihan and Saina Nehwal.

Venue Information

The Indoor Stadium is Singapore’s largest and most versatile indoor sports and entertainment venue.

Officially opened in December 1989, the Singapore Indoor Stadium has a flexible arena that can be arranged to accommodate both small (2,500 spectators) and large crowds (up to 12,000 spectators). The Stadium has been used for various major sport events, entertainment events and concerts performed by international superstars such as Elton John, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Justin Bieber, and more. The Indoor Stadium is also no stranger to world-class badminton action. The Singapore Badminton Open is a high-profile tournament that has been held there more than 10 years.
